Gallery Announces Art Winners

At the May 20 opening reception of “Views and Visions: Travelers” at 鶹ýӳ’s Reynolds Gallery, Santa Barbara photographer Barbara Parmet won Best of Show, sponsored by Northern Trust, and $1,000 for her photograph, “Trinidad, Cuba.”
Santa Barbara artist Dug Uyesaka won the Platinum Award, sponsored by The 鶹ýӳ Art Council, and $500 for his assemblage sculpture, “Yankee.”
Santa Barbara photographer Nell Campbell won the Gold Award, sponsored by Neunuebel/Barrantes Wealth Management Group, and $300 cash for her photograph, “Calle Teniente Rey y Cuba, Havana 2002.”
Honorable Mention Awards were given to Joshua Tengan, who graduated May 8 from 鶹ýӳ, for his linoleum cut, “I Am Them,” Carol Carbine for her oil painting, “Beauties of the Nile,” and Judy Nienow for her oil painting, “Alien Travelers Rediscover TANG.”
The winners were chosen by juror Kent Butler, artist and professor at the MFA program at Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles. The exhibit features artist Joshua Cave, a 鶹ýӳ alumnus, and will be on display through June 24.
