New Window for Prayer Chapel
By
Scott Craig
ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» dedicated a new stained glass window during an intimate service inside the Nancy Voskuyl Prayer Chapel on Oct. 16.
Nancy Voskuyl, a ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» student and the daughter of President Roger and Trudy Voskuyl, died in a tragic automobile accident in 1959 on Sycamore Canyon Road. To honor her, the college built the Nancy Voskuyl Memorial Prayer Chapel in the heart of campus. More than 60 years later, the college decided to replace the dated original window and replace it with a series of images.
The Voskuyl family was not only understanding and supportive of the project, Jane Voskuyl Jackson β65, Nancyβs sister, and her husband, David, generously offered to create a new stained glass window, βStation XV: Resurrectionβ by Scott Parsons.β
At the dedication, Jane read and reflected on a touching poem that had been sent to the family from a student following Nancyβs tragic death.
